After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Albion College and Medical Degree from the University of Michigan, Dr. Wilcox returned to his hometown of Grand Rapids for his orthopedic surgery residency training at Spectrum Butterworth and Blodgett, along with St. Mary’s Medical Center.

In 2001, Dr. Wilcox moved north to Petoskey to practice general orthopedic surgery with Bay Street Ortho. He held clinics and performed surgery in Petoskey, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, and St. Ignace. Since 2019, he has been practicing exclusively with Mackinac Straits Health System.

In 2020, Dr. Wilcox led the development of the Mackinac Straits Joint Replacement Program. He has performed hundreds of knee, hip and shoulder replacements at Mackinac Straits Hospital. Currently, Dr. Wilcox is providing treatment for disorders of the knee, hip and shoulder at the St. Ignace and Mackinaw City Clinics, along with arthroscopy and arthroplasty in St. Ignace. Dr. Wilcox has been board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery since 2003. *New patients will need a referral from a primary care provider.

Dr. Wilcox is married to Joelle, a counselor in Petoskey, and they have raised three children, Sam, Evie and Annabel. In his free time, Dr. Wilcox enjoys playing fast pitch softball, running, biking, and hunting for Petoskey stones, as well as rooting for the Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Tigers.
